About TGIF at the SSC
In Winter 2009, the students at UC San Diego approved the Sustainability Referendum thereby increasing undergraduate student fees in order to provide funding for both the Student Sustainability Collective and The Green Initiative Fund. Since 2009, $1.67 from every student has gone towards funding TGIF, which has accumalated to a project fund of approximately $80,000.
Our Mission Statement: Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) provides funding for projects that reduce UC San Diego’s negative impact on the environment, in addition to making UC San Diego more sustainable in both the social and environmental sense. Through project grants, the goal of TGIF is to enable and empower students to become leaders for sustainability on campus at UC San Diego.

February 20: UCSD TGIF 2012 Applications Due
Don’t hesitate to apply for The Green Initiative Fund. We are looking for new, innovative projects that will help further the sustainability movement on campus at UC San Diego!

Internships available:
We are always looking for students interested in marketing and outreach for TGIF. Students will get the opportunity to play an active role in environmental projects on campus and furthermore to work with and become educated about the Student Sustainability Collective.
